Last week I finally made it happen. Visiting a super cute bookstore in Vienna’s 1st district with a friend, and going on a huge book-shopping spree. Our destination: “Shakespeare & Company”.

The ambiance inside instantly felt homely and comfortable. An old man was reading a book on a retro reading chair in a corner. The shop owner was putting together orders at his desk. We felt no time pressure and just started exploring…
I found lots of books that I had already heard of and took my time reading the book description on the back cover. After half an hour I already had a huge stack of books in my hands, I had to start putting some of them back or else I would have spent all my money there.
“Shakespeare & Company” stocks a good amount of new books, but I like how their shelves are also filled with lots of classics and even special editions. In total, we spent 2h in the small bookstore on Sterngasse 2, 1010 Vienna.

Finally, I decided on buying three books: one for my mother for mother’s day, and two more for myself. I’ll try to do a book haul on my Instagram @juliespathofgrowth very soon.
I must admit that I stopped at another bookstore on my way home and bought four more books. Amongst others, the complete works of Oscar Wilde. No regrets!!!
If you have any suggestions on a place I can check out next, please leave a comment!! I’m dying to spend more money on books it seems < 3
